Pilgrim Lutheran School offers Preschool through Eighth Grade instruction, however the students in grades 6, 7, and 8 are considered part of the “Middle School”. The academic rigor, class rotations, interschool sports, and varied field trips, offer our students a unique educational experience during these years. Our parents and teachers will agree that this is such an important age for children in developing the life-long academic, social and spiritual values that will help them succeed. Pilgrim Lutheran’s Middle School guides students in a safe Christian environment while providing very individualized attention. In most areas, the 3 middle school teachers strive to keep their policies and expectations consistent so that students develop better habits and succeed while attending school here. While attending Pilgrim Lutheran, the Middle School students will have many service and leadership opportunities, class projects, varied instruction from 3 core teachers, many field trips, including a week-long field trip, sporting and social events, and a chance to develop and nurture their Christian faith. We also offer weekly electives including, Spanish, P.E. and Choristers, all taught by specialized staff.
Why a Christian School?
In order to carry out the command of Jesus, "Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you..." (Matthew 28:20), in 1961 the members of Pilgrim Lutheran Church of Chula Vista established Pilgrim Lutheran School. On September 9, 1963 the doors were opened, and the school began for students in Kindergarten and grades 1 and 2.
We are currently blessed to serve families with students in grades preschool to eighth grade.
