Lunch Menu

Our school is excited to offer a catered hot lunch program daily to our students. We utilize local businesses and they cater the lunch straight to our school! There will be times when there is a “blank” or “special” box on the lunch order form. On those days, we may be doing a special in-house lunch put on by a Youth Group, Individual Class to fundraise for a trip, etc. On these occasions a special order form will come home on a later date and students may order off that form.

Parent Teacher League

PTL is Pilgrim’s Parent Teacher League whose major focus is fundraising for the needs of our school (Preschool—8th grade).  PTL thrives on parent participation and welcomes you to attend any of our meetings and events.

Policies

Part of being a student at Pilgrim Lutheran is completing both work at school and at home.  Homework serves several purposes.  It reinforces what is being taught at school.  It allows students to prepare new material that will contribute to what we are already doing in the classroom.  And it establishes responsibility and a strong work ethic in our maturing students.

Late Work

Now that your students are in Middle School – they will have much higher expectations when it comes to turning in their homework, and getting it in ON TIME.  Homework is due on the day requested, and will be collected at the beginning of that class period.  Homework turned in later in class or after school, is considered LATE.  In the middle school, we follow a strict Late Work Policy.  All late work will be scored half-credit (50%).  There is usually a “grace-period” for this policy during the beginning of the school year to help students adjust to the policy.  It is important for students to form good homework habits. These habits can help them as they strive to reach their true potential at Pilgrim Lutheran School and as they mature into productive adults.

Please also be aware that assignments that are NOT turned in, will be recorded to Gradelink as a “Zero” or “INC”.  When there are only a few assignments for that class, even one incomplete assignment can significantly lower a student’s overall grade.

Absent Work

When students are absent it is their responsibility for contacting their specific subject teachers to see what is required of them to make up.  It is especially important if a student is absent on the day of a test or other assessment, that they arrange time to make it up.  Each individual teacher may vary slightly in how many days an absent assignment is due.  PLEASE BE AWARE, that in most cases, the middle school students do NOT have until the end of the quarter to get in absent work.  Again, we are encouraging students to be responsible and to avoid procrastinating.  Obviously, there are special circumstances where a serious sickness or injury results in a large quantity of makeup work. We are happy to work with students and parents in these situations.

Sonshine Day Camp

Sonshine Day Camp will run June 6th to August 19th, 2016. Field trips will go to places such as Aquatica, Susie’s Farm, the Children’s Museum, the Living Coast Discovery Center and Sea World!
